Large 1920s - 1930s Framed Embossed BORDEN'S ICE CREAM Tin Sign. Large 1920s - 1930s Framed and Embossed. BORDEN'S ICE CREAM Tin Sign. This is an original tin embossed lithographed store sign made for Borden's Ice cream - "YOU KNOW IT'S PURE" , an advertising slogan of theirs in the 1920's or 1930's. The letters are raised - embossed and a white color, and they are outlined in a light red.

The sign itself measures about 20" wide x 24-1/4" high. The frame is a hardwood and appears to be oak and the overall width is about 22-3/4 wide x 26-3/4 high. Condition of the frame is very good and has nice decorative corners. The sign has some discoloration in the blue background, probably from outside weathering and some rust (the worse area we see is in the photo showing the reverse side, at the top right corner). There is no sign backing (prior thin wood backing had been removed). There is a newer wire hanger attached to the frame, as shown.

This makes a really nice wall piece for collectors of dairy, ice cream, advertising or country farm home design! This sign has "patina" as one would expect for the age and wear and many years still to go! Actual weight is 5 lbs.
